Why We Built This Site
Louisiana gives the public broad access to many government records through the Louisiana Public Records Law, including La. R.S. 44:1 and La. R.S. 44:31 through 44:35. The hard part in Bienville Parish is knowing which record custodian to ask. The Clerk of Court handles court files, civil and probate records, criminal proceedings, marriage licenses, land records, UCC filings, and legal documents. The sheriff handles jail, booking, court-cost, and ticket-payment channels. The District Attorney handles prosecution and local traffic-diversion questions. The 2nd Judicial District Court is the trial court, while the Clerk is the record office.
